Review of Allu Arjun’s latest flick“Ala Vaikuntapuram lo”
Ala Vaikuntapuram lo(2020)
“Ala Vaikuntapuram lo” was one of the much-awaited flicks this Sankranthi in Tollywood. It competes strongly with Maheshbabu’s latest outing “Sarileru Neekevvaru”. All this was just because of the crazy combination of Allu Arjun and Trivikram Srinivas.
But in reality, this film went viral through Thaman’s Music before the release. Amazing tunes they are, whether it is Samajavaragamana or Ramulo Ramula or Oh my God Daddy or Butta Bomma or another folk song Sittarala Sirapadu.
Taman’s music was the biggest asset for Alavaikuntapuram to which I give fifty per cent credit to his team (lyricist, singers, musicians) in the movie’s success. That’s the reason I have mentioned him before the review.
Of course, the next credit goes to Allu Arjun’s worshipping fans which means hardcore devotees. without them, this movie wouldn’t become a blockbuster hit otherwise.
Coming to the story,
Valmiki(Murali Sharma) and Ramachandra (Jayaram) join the ARK Industries as clerks but Ramachandra with his diligence grows in his career. Having inspired by his intelligence, CEO ARK(Sachin Kadekar) did wedlock with his daughter Yasu(Tabu). With this association, he became Millionaire Ramachandra in the nick of time whereas Valmiki stays as a clerk in the Vaikuntapuram Mansion which belongs to ARK Industries.
Having jealous of Ramachandra’s success, Valmiki exchanged both sons who born at the same time. Nobody knows this truth except the nurse but she went to coma as she fell from the first floor of the hospital building due to a clash between her and Valmiki regarding swapping infants.
Valmiki did swapping just because he wants his son should bring up in a rich family like a prince but on the other hand, he slumped the growth of Vaikuntapuram prince cunningly through restrictions to take vengeance on his father.
By the way, their names are Bantu(Allu Arjun) and Raj Manohar(Sushanth) who have contrast lives simply to say, Bantu who is the Prince of Vaikuntapuram leads a middle-class life whereas Raj leads as the Prince in Vaikuntapuram.
Since childhood, Bantu struggled a lot to impress his father but he never gets that love and affection from him. He got vexed up with his attitude at a certain point in time as Valmiki never supports him in any form.
Bantu joined in a travel agency with the help of HR(Rahul Ramakrishna) who got emotional with his father-son rivalling story. There he meets Amulya(Pooja Hegde), the divisional manager in the same company. As expected, both fell in love through situations.
On the other side, millionaire Ramachandra has little scuffles with his wife because of the contrasting opinions on their son. She never let Raj out from the comfort zone as she nurtures him like a prince who born to enjoy the life with hereditary-wealth whereas Ramachandra wants his son to be an independent-minded person to look after the entire business along with rivalry issues in it but Raj doesn’t show maturity in handling those affairs so he always brood about the weak-mentality of his son.
At these circumstances, how did Bantu come across the mystery behind his birth? How did he react to it? Did he ever enter into Vaikuntapuram and solve the disputes they had with rivalries? How did he unveil the actual truth to his family forms the rest of the story!
Coming to the review,
Alavaikuntapuram turns out to be the best film for the one who never watches Trivikram’s previous movies. Candidly, this film looks like a remix version of all his previous films except that swapping part so I found nothing new magic in this film except songs and dance choreographies.
Coming to Allu Arjun, he nailed the acting in Bantu role which is a feast to watch but has a small complaint towards his characterization. Since he is the hero of the film, every problem in the family should be resolved by him which is an illogical thing actually.
Murali Sharma got the new role to elevate his acting and he killed it in Valmiki character.
Pooja Hegde character Amulya has shades of her previous film “Aravinda Sametha” and DJ.
Jayaram and Sachin Kadhekar did best within their characterization.
Especially, in the whole film, I appreciate Tabu’s character Yasu as an affluent mother who loves her son to the moon and back whatever he did.
Sushanth has different characterization but as an audience, we expect more than this.
Niveditha Pethuraj doesn’t have a full-fledged role.
Samuthira Karani and his gang, don’t have much scope to perform.
Rohini, Navdeep, Harsha, Rahul Ramakrishna, Rajendra Prasad, Eswari Rao, Tanikella Bharani, etc., form the rest of the cast.
Pros
Music and Choreography
Visuals
Allu Arjun — Pooja combination
Starcast
Climax
Dialogues
Cons
Trivikram’s routine direction
Non-emotional touch though it is a sentimental film
No character has much scope to perform
Banking on bunny
Old concept
Verdict:
Finally, Ala Vaikuntapuram a Sankranthi feast for the Tollywood filmy goers but not an everlasting film
